Ports near the Paphos Marina

At this stage of the development, Paphos Marina is on course to occupy 1,000 boats and is aiming to incorporate docking facilities for cruise ships – and this is certainly going to make it a popular destination for anyone in the area with a vessel. However, an important thing to consider is its positioning and what ports will actually be nearby, as the location is certainly going to play a huge part in its popularity.

Fortunately, even though the marina hasn’t quite been finished yet, we do know where it’s going to be – and we can use this information to determine just what the future is likely to hold for the site moving forward.

Where is Paphos Marina being built?

At the moment, the marina is under construction in Potima, which is located near Peyia. The location of the development is important for several reasons; from what attractions will be within walking distance (or just a little further out), to the proximity to other ports and marinas.

Some great facts to keep in mind are that it will be the first marina in Paphos and one of the largest in the whole of Cyprus, which is certain to help draw both interest and attention from a range of visitors.

Nearby ports

Greece has a few ports that boat owners and cruise ships already make use of, and these could become even more functional once Paphos Marina is up and running. With easy access to islands like Crete, travelling times will be reduced and the new convenience will open up a whole host of possibilities.

The cruise ship docking facilities will only make it an even better stop for luxury ships planning their courses, whether these are focused more on touring Greece or on trips from the Greek Islands themselves to the wonderful destination that is Cyprus.

Other ports and marinas around the island

There are quite a few other marinas in development in Cyprus right now. In fact, the one in Limassol was finished in June 2021 and the marina in Ayia Napa is close to completion, too. Others that aren’t quite as close yet are the ones in Paralimni and Larnaca, although they are both progressing nicely, meaning that it won’t be long until they’re also ready for business.

The connectivity between these marinas will create unrestricted access to a range of sites around the island, which could be perfect for just about anyone hoping to explore or streamline their current travels. This means that the Paphos Marina is going to become a fantastic attraction, as well as part of a wider network that is sure to become a welcome addition to the island.

Paphos does already have a harbour, and St Raphael Marina in Pyrgos is also a great destination that’s been around for quite some time.

What’s available in the area?

Anyone who plans to stop by the marina might be wondering what they’ll be able to do there. Aside from the commercial and residential plots that will be available, there are also plenty of things to do in Potima that will make Paphos Marina a perfect place to visit.

From fantastic beaches like Coral Bay, to a wide variety of restaurants and bars; there’s already a well-established tourist scene that makes Paphos a great destination to visit. With the new and exciting opportunities created by the new marina and its potential for real estate and new businesses; there’s no doubt that the city is going to see more and more attractions opening up in the coming years, giving visitors even more reason to come and explore.
